Small Business Voices on Recovering from Hurricane Helene – Restaurants & Bakeries

It’s been over six weeks since Hurricane Helene devastated portions of Western North Carolina. Luckily, the majority of the Smokies were left mostly undamaged.

Unfortunately, while our town of Franklin was spared, the news about Helene caused many would-be visitors to cancel their plans for a vacation here. In this economic “storm after the storm”, many local family businesses have been hit the hardest because tourists stayed away.

In this video, more small businesses tell their stories and why we welcome, and need, visitors now.

The good news is that Franklin and our surrounding areas are open. Visitors are welcome. In fact, visitors are needed. But don’t take our word for it…
