Nantahala Hiking Club conducts hikes on most Saturdays, Sundays and occasional weekday hikes. The club also holds volunteer days on Wednesdays. Click here for more details.
Hiking with the club typically means someone agrees to carpool others to the trailhead. Carpooling helps minimize traffic and reduce our carbon footprint. Also, some trailheads have limited parking.
The Club is one of 31 volunteer Appalachian Trail maintaining clubs of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC). It maintains 58.6 miles of the AT from Bly Gap at the Georgia/North Carolina border to Nantahala Outdoor Center on the Nantahala River at Wesser, NC. It also maintains several trails that connect to the AT.
You do not need to be a member to hike or volunteer with the Club. Families and friends are always welcome!
