Jackrabbit Mountain Trail is a beginner to intermediate series of loop trails located near Hiawassee about 30 minutes from Franklin. It is a total of 15 miles of stacked loop trails many of which border Lake Chatuge while other meander through the woods or ridge-top. It is a singletrack with a maximum of 12% gradient. The trail is well maintained and open year-round, with beautiful views of Lake Chatuge. The drive from Franklin along Murphy Rd. is gorgeous.
