ExperienceFranklinNC.com is a tourism website designed to attract potential visitors from markets/locations outside of WNC to Franklin, or to draw those already visiting nearby towns here. Following VisitNC guidelines, events listed on this website represent any occurrence or gathering that might attract visitors or is taking place at a location already a tourist attraction. These distinctions are driven by research. Events include, but are not limited to, festivals, concerts, art shows, holiday events, expos & hobby shows, historical events, and parades. Only events which reasonably can expect to draw a material percentage of its audience from 50+ miles away, is located at a tourist attraction (Main St., breweries, museums, historical or cultural locations or markers) or is supported by travel research (such as a concert, festival, unique art exhibits, or a parade) are considered for inclusion. Thus, events such as banquets, annual galas, charity events such as a fundraiser requiring tickets for entry are not suitable for this website as they tend to draw a primarily local audience. (Local audiences also include long-stay visitors with second homes.) Meetings, conferences, seminars, classes and workshops are also not included. Special/themed retail sales are not events. Hotel packages are not events.
