Excursions
Tuckasegee River Excursion
Embark on a relaxing four-hour train ride from Bryson City to Dillsboro, traveling 32 miles round-trip. Along the way, pass through the 836-foot-long haunted Cowee Tunnel and the iconic movie set of The Fugitive. The trip includes a 1 hour and 20-minute stop in the historic town of Dillsboro, where you can explore over 50 shops, restaurants, a brewery, and country inns.
Nantahala Gorge Excursion
Experience the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains, Nantahala River, and Fontana Lake on a scenic four-and-a-half-hour round trip from Bryson City. This 44-mile excursion takes you through Alarka Creek and Fontana Lake before crossing the Fontana Trestle into Nantahala Gorge. The trip includes a one-hour layover at the Nantahala Outdoor Center.
