A very short hike to a beautifully long waterfall in the Nantahala National Forest. Two viewing areas provide up close views of Mooney Falls.
Explore this 0.2-mile out-and-back trail near Otto, North Carolina. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 6 min to complete. This is a popular trail for hiking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The best times to visit this trail are June through October. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
This is a short, family-friendly trail that leads to a beautiful waterfall. Mooney Falls cascades over a series of rocks, making this a nice spot to visit, especially if staying in the Standing Indian area at either Standing Indian Campground or Hurricane Creek Primitive Campground & Horse Camp.
